Taiwo Aina is a visual storyteller and filmmaker who specializes in documentary stories and creative portraits.
She started photographing since her high school days where she learnt photography as an entrepreneurship subject. Her passion for photography increased as she developed her interest through the years.
Taiwo is based in Oyo state, Nigeria. Taiwo is presently a final year student of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.
Photography is a universal language that everyone understands. Photography helps her to see the world differently and more closely.
Taiwo currently creates works that relate to human daily life and experiences, people, religion, agriculture, entrepreneurship. Taiwo is interested in capturing beautiful moments. Taiwo loves to travel, this helps her in discovering a new culture, interacting with people, and broadening her knowledge.
Taiwo’s work on ‘Shaping the Nigerian Narrative’ has been exhibited in Business of Photography Conference, Lagos, Nigeria in June 2019. Her work has been featured on Getty reportage social platform, Tell That story website, among others. Taiwo attended a workshop organized by an international magazine, No Wahala Magazine in July 2020. She is a professional member of the African Photojournalism Database (APJD), a joint projectby World Press Photo and Everyday Africa. Also, Taiwo made it to Diversify Photo's "Up Next Photographers" selected from over 1000 applicants globally in 2020.
